Parfums D'Elmar: Contemporary Author Niche Perfumes
A Swiss niche maison founded in 2017 by Elmar Métry in Birchwil, Switzerland. The unisex fragrances are offered at the remarkable concentration of 35% — a level the house terms «Quintessence de Parfum» — blending rare raw materials with meticulously handcrafted flacons that make each piece a singular object in contemporary artistic perfumery.
History and philosophy
Parfums d'Elmar was born in 2017 from the personal passion of Elmar Métry, a former private banker who, together with his wife Angelika, chose to transform their love of perfumery into a creative venture. The maison established itself in Birchwil, Switzerland, and swiftly carved out a distinctive position in the luxury niche segment through an offering that stands apart both aesthetically and olfactively.
In 2022 the brand underwent a significant creative shift: the founder moved away from the hedonistic, leathery aesthetic of the first three launches in favour of a more natural universe inspired by light, the sea, and the landscapes of Hawaii. The fragrances' names, drawn from the Hawaiian language, became the defining thread of this new chapter. The maison's logo draws on the Métry family's heraldic crest, reinforcing the personal and familial character of the project.
The style
Parfums d'Elmar produces exclusively unisex fragrances in extrait de parfum format, with a perfume oil concentration of 35% — a threshold the brand calls «Quintessence de Parfum» that delivers longevity and sillage well above the norm. Compositions are entrusted to internationally acclaimed perfumers, including Mark Buxton and Christian Carbonnel. Recurring olfactive families range from oriental-woody and warm gourmand through to fruity floral and aromatic citrus.
- Entirely unisex fragrances, conceived without distinction of gender.
- A 35% concentration: among the highest to be found in contemporary niche perfumery.
- Hawaiian inspiration in both the naming and the olfactive imagery of the most recent phase.
- Hand-worked crystal flacons embellished with Swarovski crystals and leather details, each one effectively unique.
- Collaborations with established perfumers: Mark Buxton for the early launches, Christian Carbonnel for the Hawaiian collection from 2022 onwards.
