Deodorant and Body Mist: Two Different Products

They are often confused, but they answer opposite needs. A deodorant works on the bacteria responsible for odour and is applied to a specific area: in artistic lines it is almost always aluminium-free, using alum stone, zinc oxide or plant-based actives.

A body mist, on the other hand, is a low-concentration fragrance, typically between 3% and 8%, made to be sprayed generously over the whole body. It does not block perspiration: it scents, refreshes and fades within two or three hours, which is exactly what makes it good for reapplying.

When to Use Which

• Deodorant — every morning after showering, on clean dry skin.
• Body mist — when you want a discreet trail instead of eau de parfum: the gym, the office, hot days.
• Together — deodorant as a neutral or coordinated base, body mist to refresh the scent in the afternoon.
• On fabric — many body mists can be sprayed on scarves and light garments, where they last noticeably longer.

Formulations and Sensitive Skin

Artistic houses tend to avoid harsh denatured alcohol and metallic salts, making their deodorants suitable even after hair removal. If your skin reacts easily, always check the INCI list on the product page.
