Maison Tahité: Italian Artistic Perfumery from Tuscany
Maison Tahité is an Italian niche perfume house launched in 2020 by Kaon Srl. The project centres on a carefully curated set of gourmand raw materials — vanilla, cacao and coffee — explored through distinct thematic collections, with a stated commitment to sustainable packaging.
History and philosophy
Maison Tahité – Officine Creative Profumi was established in 2020 as a project of the Italian company Kaon Srl, already well regarded in niche perfumery circles for having founded Laboratorio Olfattivo and for distributing Lucien Ferrero Maître Parfumeur. The name references Vanilla tahitensis, the orchid variety that yields one of the most prized vanillas in perfumery.
The house's philosophy rests on two principles: the systematic exploration of a single raw material per collection, rendered across multiple distinct olfactory interpretations, and a vision of sustainable luxury expressed through recycled card, vegetable glue, paper derived from almond shells and recyclable glass flacons. Each box contains a plantable seed card, conceived as a tangible gesture towards the environment.
The style
Maison Tahité works in thematic collections, entrusting each project to international noses — among them Lucien Ferrero, David Maruitte, Paul Guerlain, Luca Maffei, Stephanie Bakouche, Arturetto Landi, Delphine Lebeau and Céline Ellena — with the aim of revealing how many facets a single gourmand ingredient can possess. The predominant olfactory family is oriental-gourmand, with forays into floral, aquatic and woody territory. All fragrances are produced as eau de parfum.
- Vanilla Collection — the founding collection, dedicated to vanilla absolute in its warm, floral, salty and woody expressions.
- Cacao Collection — explores cacao as a raw material through interpretations ranging from pure gourmand to darker, more resinous facets, with compositions by David Maruitte, Paul Guerlain and Luca Maffei.
- Coffee Collection — investigates the more than five thousand olfactory combinations attributed to the aroma of coffee, with signatures from Delphine Lebeau, Paul Guerlain, Arturetto Landi and Stephanie Bakouche.
- Sustainable packaging — a thread running through all lines: biodegradable materials, amber flacons inspired by pharmaceutical aesthetics, and gold finishes evoking a sense of measured luxury.
Best-known products
From the first collection in 2020 to a current catalogue of over twenty references, several fragrances have established themselves as benchmarks for the house through their compositional originality and olfactory distinctiveness.
- Floranilla — an eau de parfum by Lucien Ferrero; vanilla absolute met with iris, violet and Italian mandarin over a base of myrrh and vetiver. A floral opening that evolves into an enveloping gourmand.
- VaneXstasy — an oriental woody creation by Lucien Ferrero; vanilla absolute and Peru balsam supported by notes of coconut, caramel, milk, sandalwood and cedar.
- Sel-Vanille — an eau de parfum by David Maruitte; vanilla carried on a sea breeze, with sage, aquatic notes, jasmine and cedar. One of the most unusual readings of the brand's founding raw material.
- Vanilla² — by Marie Duchêne; vanilla enriched with benzoin, praline and powdery touches within a dense, enveloping oriental structure.
- Café Gourmand — by Stephanie Bakouche, 2022; coffee and hazelnut tempered by saffron, patchouli, vetiver and sandalwood for a gourmand composition with woody depth.
