Insìum is a luxury vegan high-tech skincare brand founded in 2016 by Francesca di Lenardo in Friuli Venezia Giulia. The brand's defining signature is the fusion of advanced biotechnology with plant-derived ingredients, in formulas entirely free from petrochemical derivatives, silicones and conventional preservatives, conceived and produced entirely in Italy.

History and philosophy

The name Insìum draws from the Latin in somnum — «during sleep» — and from the ancient Friulian word for «dream»: a name that encapsulates the ambition of founder Francesca di Lenardo, born in Trieste into a family of winemakers and raised with a deep respect for nature and sustainable enterprise. After more than fifteen years in international communications, di Lenardo chose to return to Friuli Venezia Giulia and, in 2016, established Di Lenardo Cosmetics, based in Udine, giving life to Insìum: a skincare line conceived as a radical alternative to conventional cosmetics.

The brand's philosophy rests on a precise balance between scientific rigour and ethical formulation. Every product categorically excludes silicones, mineral oils, paraffin, petrolatum, sulphates, parabens and nanomaterials. All formulas are certified vegan and cruelty-free by PETA, and all secondary packaging is made from FSC-certified card. Insìum has received international recognition, including the Marie Claire UK Skin Awards 2022 for Best Vegan Brand and the Prix d'Excellence de la Beauté 2025.
