History and philosophy

Attar Al Has was established in Istanbul in October 2021, making its debut at the BeautyWorld Middle East fair in Dubai. The name has Arabic roots: «attar» denotes essence or fragrance in its broadest sense, while «al has» evokes the idea of that which is one's own, personal, intimate — underscoring the house's vocation for fragrances that speak to the individual rather than the crowd. Behind the project are two partners with long experience in the industry, determined to build a benchmark brand for high-end Oriental perfumery.

The creative philosophy rests on three pillars: the revival of ancient distillation and blending techniques, the sourcing of high-quality raw materials, and ongoing collaboration with internationally trained perfumers. From 2022, the brand entered into a partnership with French company Robertet, bringing into its creative palette perfumers accustomed to working with leading European niche houses.

The style

The Attar Al Has catalogue revolves around Oriental families — amber, spice, leather, musk — with forays into floral and gourmand territory that temper the heaviness typical of Gulf tradition towards compositions more wearable in Western contexts. Concentrations offered are eau de parfum and extrait de parfum, with perfumers including Hüseyin Erdoğmuş, Marc Daniel Heimgartner, Mohammad Tammam Mando, Karine Vinchon Spehner and Sidonie Lancesseur among the principal authors of the creations. The flacons, featuring caps shaped as gemstone rings, make explicit reference to the aesthetic of Ottoman jewellery.

  • Recurring use of oud, amber, labdanum, musk and Oriental spices as structural raw materials.
  • A pairing of spiced or fruity openings with warm resinous bases, with good lasting power on skin.
  • A unisex character runs through almost the entire catalogue.
  • The Gems Collection (Tiger's Eye, Wild Emerald, Harmonic Tourmaline, Radiant Peridot), launched in 2024 as an expansion of the range towards airier floral and woody families.
  • Collaboration with Robertet for the 2022 Summer Collection, signalling an openness towards European creative perfumery.

The most celebrated fragrances

Among the more than twenty references in the catalogue, several have attracted particular attention from the fragrance community worldwide.

  • Leather Effecto — Extrait de parfum signed by Hüseyin Erdoğmuş; opening of rum, saffron and nutmeg; heart of jasmine; base of labdanum, vanilla, sandalwood and amber. A spiced-leather Oriental with good projection.
  • Skin Musk — Extrait de parfum by Karine Vinchon Spehner; a chypre-fruity opening (almond, peach, bergamot), a floral heart of Turkish rose and magnolia, a base of musk, bourbon vanilla and tonka. An intimate fragrance with a second-skin effect.
  • My Magic — A floral Oriental signed by Mohammad Tammam Mando, launched in 2021. An amber resinous structure with osmanthus, Damascene rose, patchouli and nagarmotha; a warm close of Madagascar vanilla.
  • Exquisite — A fruity floral gourmand by Marc Daniel Heimgartner; opening of loukoum, raspberry and pink grapefruit, heart of rose and saffron, base of vanilla, pistachio and white musks.
  • Passion Oud — A woody Oriental with oud prominently featured; one of the house's founding titles and a direct expression of the attar tradition of the Arabian Peninsula.
