BAKEL is an Italian clean skincare brand founded by Dr Raffaella Gregoris in Udine, with its first formulations dating back to 2008–2009. Its founding principle is uncompromising: every product is composed exclusively of functional active ingredients, with no preservatives, silicones, colorants, synthetic fragrances, or petroleum derivatives.

History and philosophy

BAKEL was born in a Udine laboratory from the vision of Dr Raffaella Gregoris, a chemist and cosmetologist who, over the course of her career in the cosmetics industry, arrived at a firm conviction: most of the ingredients found in conventional formulas are unnecessary at best, and questionable for skin health at worst. From this scientific premise — not merely an aesthetic one — she built a brand defined by subtraction: stripping away everything superfluous to concentrate maximum efficacy into essential formulas.

The name BAKEL is an acronym for Beauty and Key Elements, a statement of intent that encapsulates the brand's entire philosophy. Over the years, BAKEL developed its own proprietary 3D-printing technology applied to cosmetics, securing five international patents. The brand is today recognised as one of the pioneers of the clean beauty movement in Italy.

BAKEL formulas are distinguished by short, fully transparent INCI lists: every ingredient declared on the label performs a specific, documented function.
