An artistic perfume house founded in Barcelona in 2016 by Romy Kowalewski, 27/87 Parfumes creates unisex eau de parfum that translate the present moment into scent: carefully sourced ingredients, minimalist flacons and collaborations with internationally acclaimed perfumers define a cohesive project built around the philosophy «No Scent Like the Present».

History and philosophy

27/87 Parfumes was founded in Barcelona in 2016 by Romy Kowalewski, a designer of Berlin origins who moved to Catalonia to study economics and business. The brand name coincides with the founder's date of birth and with the two bottle sizes chosen for the range — 27 ml and 87 ml — deliberately unconventional formats within the European niche perfumery landscape, conceived as a tangible expression of a considered, detail-driven brand identity.

The vision underpinning the project is captured in the phrase «No Scent Like the Present»: each fragrance is conceived as a sensory response to the here and now, free from nostalgia or academic reference. The stated aim is to create perfumes that function as wearable declarations of individuality — scents that adapt to the wearer's skin chemistry rather than imposing a recognisable signature.

The aesthetic

The collection is organised into four thematic lines — NOW, GO, WILD and CALM — each built around a distinct mood. All fragrances are unisex, designed for layering, and created in collaboration with internationally regarded perfumers including Daniela Andrier, Mark Buxton, Shyamala Maisondieu, Rodrigo Flores-Roux, Jordi Fernández, Gaël Montero and Jacques Huclier. Ingredients range from pure aroma molecules to natural materials sourced from across the globe; the packaging, strictly monochromatic, is produced with local Barcelona artisans.

  • NOW line — fragrances that capture the present moment with fresh accents, aldehydes and sharp contrasts between organic and synthetic notes.
  • GO line — compositions oriented towards movement and exploration, featuring marine materials, aromatic herbs and airy structures.
  • WILD line — bolder, earthier and woodier scents, crafted for those who prefer an assertive olfactory signature.
  • CALM line — enveloping accords of vanilla, sandalwood, tonka and coconut, favouring introversion and quiet presence.
  • Genetic Bliss — a standalone title in a black flacon, built on pure aroma molecules designed to interact with each wearer's individual olfactory DNA.

Best-known products

The range comprises twelve eau de parfum, distributed across the four thematic lines. The titles that have garnered the most critical and public attention are as follows.

  • Genetic Bliss — a molecular eau de parfum by Jordi Fernández (2018): akigalawood, belambra and creamy sandalwood combine with the wearer's skin chemistry for a result that is different every time.
  • #Hashtag — an aromatic eau de parfum by Daniela Andrier (2016): Somali incense, Moroccan cedar and iris intertwine with metallic aldehydes in a tribute to the digital age.
  • Wandervogel — a fresh marine eau de parfum with exotic shiso, Moroccan mint and sandalwood accords; it evokes a sense of open-ended exploration.
  • Flâneur — an eau de parfum by Mark Buxton (2021): bergamot, linden and iris root open onto a heart of absinthe, with a base of vetiver, cashmere wood and ambergris.
  • Per Se — a floral-woody-musky eau de parfum by Shyamala Maisondieu (2023): aldehydes, violet leaf and pepper over a heart of iris and bamboo, with a base of ambrette musk and angelica root.
